Today is the official "First Monday" (work Monday) of the year. I imagine you are probably still digging out of the post-holiday catch-up. I know I am! Whether you set resolutions, revolutions, goals, or habits, today is a marker for endurance. As a day to "right set" mindset, I'm dedicating Mondays to a trend and inspo.

THE GREAT RECHARGE.

Amanda Al-Masri, vice president of wellness for Hilton, is calling 2024 the “year of the great recharge.”

"In 2024, travelers are gravitating away from over-packed itineraries and becoming more wellness conscientious while on the road,” Al-Masri says.

While absolutely on point, it also applies to those of us on the "supplier" side. Destinations, hospitality businesses, vendors. After 3 years of seeking "the new normal unicorn", isntitabouttime that we "recharge" outdated practices, streamline useless "extra steps", and dig into (way into) a singular point of focus? What's the block, why are we still running around overworked, adding another platform, increasing vanity numbers, misusing data, and keeping up with the "proverbial" Jones'?

I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of us still operate on FOMO, and have limited time to "think". Chasing deadlines and bylines, it's a noisy workday for a lot of us.

Here's my challenge to you. This Monday, this year, schedule time to think. No tech, no news, no viral whatsoranother, just pick a problem or opportunity and use your big ol' brain.

And, quit asking travelers (and yourself) to do every. single. thing.

Do one, do two, do three, and do them brilliantly!
