Re-Marketing, why yours could be all wrong.
Another buzz word, gone awry. Remarketing. I keep hearing agencies pitch it, I keep seeing brands brag about doing it. Why, then, do I see l…

Real Talk: Your future self is a liar. He's lazy, and wants to sabotage your goals.
To realize what we want tomorrow, you must act today. You've read about 20 days to form a habit. Small, disciplined actions on the daily makes sure that you realize what you really want in life. Tomorrow's self finds excuses to buck discipline, concentrates on the easy thing - justifying that you're just too busy to add to your never ending task list.
How do you defend inevitable self-sabotage? You face your future self and you make another choice. You, tomorrow, tells lies to the you today. It tells you, you aren't good enough to do that, not connected enough and by-damn, you're going to fail. You have to talk to yourself, put yourself in check. "Don't tell me I can't do that! I have bills to pay, dreams to realize!"
The story you tell yourself is your prophecy.
20 minutes a day working on an alternative future is more than enough to change you habits. You spend that time just on hygiene, so your future self (later in the same day) won't be stinky.
Work on the hard stuff a little bit everyday. Don't let the tomorrow you manipulate your actions on the "easy stuff". Hiding in the easy stuff is inevitable. Busy work on your design, writing another business plan you'll never put into action tricks you into thinking magic fairies will make your tomorrow you wildly successful. Meanwhile, a strapping young entrepreneur is DOING the things.
Do the things today.
The tough work, the work that allows you to be part of the connection economy. The work that capitalizes on our very short window of today's problems. Find your threats and chip away until it's opportunity. Your assumed problems are rarely, if ever, the real problems. Step back, look in your crystal ball, the future self tacked the "problem" and ended up with 1,267 more! Work on the threats to your business, your career, your client.
Move quick, invest in yourself. Trick your mind to protect you from that lazy doppelganger.
This is my little contribution to your Wisdom Wednesday.
Kick that lazy future self in the ass and distrust that traitor on the daily.
