Loyalty Isn’t Dead. You’re Just Ignoring the Moment.
Let’s talk about loyalty. Not the dusty kind with punch cards or hashtags. Not “Welcome back!” in Comic Sans at the airport.

(...because your girl earned this break and the margarita is already sweating. ) Friends, I’m officially OOO. And not in that “I’m resting but secretly on Slack” kind of way. No. I’m in Scottsdale.
(...because your girl earned this break and the margarita is already sweating.)
Friends, I’m officially OOO. And not in that “I’m resting but secretly on Slack” kind of way. No. I’m in Scottsdale. I’ve got sunscreen in my cleavage, a drink that came with a tiny umbrella, and not a single notification allowed to interrupt the vibe.
I’m not just taking time off. I’m taking back my sanity. Because the month? Unhinged. The year? A fever dream. The week? Let's just say the group chat is still recovering.
Oh—and did I mention? Destination Innovate turns 7 this Saturday. Seven years of playing this game differently. Seven years of calling BS, building better, and helping brands find their actual voice (not the AI-generated one that sounds like a LinkedIn bot with trust issues).
So yeah. I’m celebrating. Loudly. Poolside. Possibly wearing a hat I don’t deserve.
And while I’m gone, I’ve prepared a little something for you—because what kind of Destruptor would I be if I didn’t leave behind a to-do list you didn’t ask for?
1. Cancel a meeting that makes your soul wince. Just one. Consider it a trial run for boundaries. Blame me if you need to. I can take it.
2. Audit your last campaign with zero filter. Ask yourself: Was this brave? Did it say anything? Would I share it with pride or delete it quietly and pretend it never launched?
3. Catch up on some greatest hits—still spicy, still true:
The STR Situationship (A complicated tale of STRs and DMOs)
She is Tourism ( Mom rant version)
4. Plan your rebellion. I mean, your trip to DestiCon. Two days. No beige panels. No performative innovation. Just real talk, real strategy, and a lot of power moves. www.destinationinnovate.com/desticon
5. Drink some water. And then take a nap. And if anyone asks what you’re doing, say: “Protecting my ROI.” They’ll be too confused to argue.
6. Forward this to someone who needs permission to rest, reset, or rage quit respectfully. Let’s stop glorifying burnout and start glamorizing boundaries.
I’ll be back next week (probably)...mildly sunburned, hopefully buzzed, and definitely full of hot takes.
Until then:
Rearrange your desktop icons and call it “workflow optimization.”
Make a playlist that starts with Beyoncé and ends with Alanis.
And whatever you do—don’t answer that email just because your thumb betrayed you and opened it.
Your vacation era is coming. I’m just beta-testing it for you.
