Tomorrow, your feed will be full of sparklers, flag cakes, and someone’s uncle almost setting the garage on fire. There will be dramatic reels of fireworks with captions like “let freedom ring,” and at least one coworker will try to connect the Fourth of July to your destination brand in a way that makes you lose faith in marketing altogether.

So let’s be clear: You are officially excused from trying to make content out of America’s birthday. (besides, you should have done that months in advance)

Here’s your permission slip to log off. Close the laptop. Stop doomscrolling. Rest is revolutionary, and honestly, it looks better on you than hustle does.

Still lurking? 👀

Fine.

Here's your Tourism News Cliff's Notes so you don’t have to pretend to stay updated during your lake day.

Quick + Dirty Tourism News (So You Can Log Off Smarter):

  • Cruise travel is up 19% from pre-pandemic levels, and Gen Z is leading the charge. Buffets and boat Wi-Fi: who knew that was the dream?

  • Miami’s tourism board lost two major hotel partners after some messy political drama. Friendly reminder: travel is political. Still.

  • Airbnb is now offering local guides as booking add-ons. STR hosts are out here becoming unofficial CVBs.

  • WTTC wants to measure tourism by more than money. They’re pushing global standards that include resident happiness. About time.

  • TikTok’s “What I’d Do in 48 Hours” trend is driving real visitation spikes. DMOs, consider this your last polite nudge to get on board.

Now go. Log off early. You earned it. The work will still be here next week, but I need you rested, hydrated, and slightly sun-kissed for the chaos ahead.

P.S. Don’t blow your hand off tomorrow. I need you intact for DestiCon.
